Sachindex (sachindex.de) is owned and operated by Sachindex Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry). The registered office is Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000. Chefredaktör Daniel Winter holds ultimate responsibility for all editorial standards, including the use of AI and automation in our journalism. This policy explains how we employ digital tools, who oversees them, and what safeguards guarantee the integrity of our reporting.
Who is responsible for AI and automation at Sachindex?
Chefredaktör Daniel Winter holds ultimate responsibility for all AI and automation decisions at Sachindex. He oversees editorial standards, approves the use of digital tools, and ensures every piece of published content meets our human-review requirements. No AI system makes publication decisions.
Redaktionschef Sandra Brandt and fact-checking lead Christina Jung work under his authority to evaluate and monitor the digital tools used in our newsroom. Any proposed use of AI or automation must be approved by editorial leadership before adoption. The full editorial team is listed on our team page.
How do AI tools support our editorial work?
AI tools at Sachindex may assist with research, editing, formatting, translation, metadata generation, headline options, summaries, and transcription. These tools help our journalists work more efficiently but never replace their expertise, judgement, or editorial oversight.
A reporter might use a transcription tool to process an interview recording, or an editor might use formatting software to prepare a story for publication. Translation tools may help the team work with Swedish and German sources. In all cases, output is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human before it enters the editorial workflow. The decision to use a specific tool is made by the relevant editor in consultation with the Chefredaktör.
What is the human guarantee for all published content?
Every article published by Sachindex is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor, and fact-checked before publication. AI-assisted output is always reviewed and approved by a human editor. No content reaches our readers without direct human oversight and sign-off from a member of the editorial team.
This guarantee applies to all content types, including news articles, analyses, opinion pieces, and sponsored material. Our editorial policy sets out the broader standards for our journalism, and our fact-checking policy describes how Christina Jung’s team verifies sources and corrects errors. We do not publish AI-generated content without a named human author and a named human editor taking responsibility for it.
What is strictly prohibited in our use of AI?
AI must never fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines, author experience, or expert profiles at Sachindex. Tools may not generate content without human review, and no automated system makes editorial decisions. These prohibitions are enforced by Chefredaktör Daniel Winter and the fact-checking team led by Christina Jung.
Specifically, we prohibit generating quotes or attributing statements to individuals without their consent and without human verification; creating fake bylines or author biographies; using AI to impersonate journalists or experts; and allowing automated systems to approve, schedule, or publish content without human authorisation. Any breach of these prohibitions is treated as a serious editorial matter and may result in correction, retraction, or disciplinary action. Our fact-checking policy provides further detail on source verification standards.
Transparency and disclosure
Sachindex commits to being transparent about how AI and automation are used in our journalism. This policy is reviewed regularly by editorial leadership. Readers with questions about our use of digital tools may contact us at info@sachindex.de or our editorial team at editorial@sachindex.de.
We label all sponsored and commercial material clearly and disclose affiliate links in accordance with our advertising and affiliate disclosure policy. AI-assisted tools are used solely to support human journalists, never to replace them. We welcome inquiries from readers and industry observers about our practices and will respond to questions about specific tools or workflows on request. Contact details are available on our contact page.
